
Barcelona will be missing plenty of faces during the September international break. A total of 15 players from the first team and academy have been called up to represent their countries.
Spanish presence
Pau Cubarsí, Pedri, Fermín López, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal are all in the squad. They face Bulgaria on September 4 in Sofia before taking on Turkey on September 7 in Konya.
De Jong and Lewandowski meet again
Frenkie de Jong will be in action with the Netherlands against Poland on September 4 in Rotterdam. That game also includes Robert Lewandowski leading the Polish attack. A few days later, De Jong heads to Lithuania while Lewandowski plays at home against Finland, both on September 7.
South America
Raphinha has joined Brazil for two World Cup qualifiers. First up is Chile at the Maracanã on September 4, followed by a trip to Bolivia on September 9. Ronald Araújo is also in action, playing for Uruguay against Peru in Montevideo on September 4, then against Chile in Santiago on September 9.
France and Denmark duties
Jules Kounde is with France. He will face Ukraine in Wrocław on September 5 and then Iceland in Paris on September 9. Andreas Christensen has also been called up for Denmark. His matches are against Scotland in Copenhagen on September 5 and Greece in Piraeus on September 8.
Other call-ups
Marcus Rashford has been included in England’s squad. He plays Andorra on September 6 in Birmingham and Serbia on September 9 in Belgrade. Roony Bardghji is with Sweden’s U21s for games against Armenia and Montenegro. From Barça’s academy, Héctor Fort and Andrés Cuenca are with Spain U20, playing two friendlies against France in Clairefontaine on September 4 and September 7.
