Barcelona and Oriol Romeu have reached an agreement to terminate the midfielder’s deal, which was originally set to run until 2026. Sources have confirmed to Blaugranagram that the official announcement is expected shortly.
According to reports coming out of Spain, ending Romeu’s contract helps create space to register Gerard Martín, who has been waiting to join the first-team list. This move is part of the club’s late-August registration puzzle, with Roony Bardghji also mentioned among those pending.
The 33-year-old departs on a free transfer and is free to choose his next club, with Girona described as a likely destination.
We at Blaugranagram wish Oriol Romeu the very best in his next chapter.
