Why the timeline shifted
According to reports coming out of Spain, doctors first tried conservative treatment. When the pain did not settle, surgery was chosen. Once inside the joint, the medical team found more damage than expected, so they sutured the meniscus to protect the knee for the long term. This extended the timeline beyond the early estimates.
