Barcelona open the 2025–26 Liga F season tonight at the Estadi Johan Cruyff against newly promoted Alhama at 20:00 CEST. The club will present the full women’s squad to the fans before kick-off.

Pere Romeu goes into year two with a leaner first-team group. This August has been defined more by exits than arrivals, with Laia Aleixandri the only addition highlighted this month. Several players moved on, while Lucía Corrales returned from loan to add depth on the left.

Preseason form has been steady. Barcelona lifted the Copa Catalunya with a 1 – 0 win over Badalona Women. The tour in Mexico brought a 2 – 2 draw against the Liga MX All-Stars that Barça won on penalties and a 2 – 1 victory over Club América.

According to reports coming out of Spain, Romeu’s staff have worked this week on two game states. When Alhama press high, Barça want to attack the space behind. At the Johan, the visitors often drop deep, so patience on the ball and quick circulation will be key. Set pieces are also on the checklist, given Alhama’s physical profile.

The projected XI for Barcelona features Cata Coll in goal. Ona Batlle, Irene Paredes, Mapi León and Esmee Brugts across the back. Patri Guijarro, Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas in midfield. Caroline Graham Hansen, Ewa Pajor and Clàudia Pina up front.
