Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, held a meeting at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper with Fernando Solanas, the agent of Iñaki Peña and Héctor Fort, to discuss the pair’s immediate futures.
Sources have confirmed to Blaugranagram that Peña’s situation is active, with multiple scenarios on the table as Barça works through fair play considerations. According to Mundo Deportivo, Girona have reignited their interest following Paulo Gazzaniga’s difficult outing against Rayo Vallecano. The same report details that Barça’s plan is to renew Peña’s contract (currently running to 2026) and then loan him out, a move that would help free salary space. His wages are close to €4 million, and such a move could help register pending additions like Wojciech Szczęney. Additionally, there are outside interests (including Como), and several LaLiga clubs have made inquiries.
SPORT reported that the meeting lasted around an hour and a half. They add that Como explored Pẽna’s incorporation- despite having recently brought in Henrique Lopes Menke on loan- and that Spanish options remain on the table, with the player evaluating proposals based on minutes and fit.
The Héctor Fort formula is under study- loan or transfer remain possibilities- and several teams have shown interest for weeks. The club’s focus is not only to free space but to place young players in the right competitive context before bringing them back.
