Gavi felt knee pain in Friday’s training and will miss the trip to Vallecas. Barcelona will reassess once the swelling settles and full checks are completed.

According to reports coming out of Spain, swelling in the knee delayed some of the planned tests, making a quick return unlikely. The midfielder stopped mid-session at the Ciutat Esportiva after feeling discomfort in his right knee and did not finish training. Given the timing and the schedule, the staff decided not to risk him for Sunday.

He came off the bench against Mallorca and then played the second half in Valencia against Levante, helping steady the team during the comeback. He also had a strong preseason with goals and an assist, building form ahead of the league start.

The club will prioritize recovery and avoid setbacks, with updates to follow once the swelling goes down and the full medical assessment is done.
