Karim Adeyemi signs a 5-year contract with the Catalan side, becoming the second forward signing for Hansi Flick’s men, after Anthony Gordon.

Joan Laporta confirmed his signing Tuesday outside El Prat Airport in Barcelona to the attending journalists, and now, Thursday, following some postponements, the deal has been made official.

Borussia Dortmund have agreed to let go of Karim Adeyemi, who has struggled in recent times during his performances in front of the Yellow Wall. The 24-year-old has been known for his blistering pace and good technical ability, although, similar to what Ousmane Dembélé’s issue was when he joined Barca from Dortmund, his end product is oftentimes lacking.

Hansi Flick’s usage of him will definitely prove to be interesting, as Raphinha remains a constant on the left wing. Anthony Gordon also prefers the left side, and at the very least, this would add some competition to the squad’s left-sided flank, if not quality.

The player has reportedly told his agent, Jorge Mendes, prior to the move that he only wants Barcelona, and “doesn’t care about other clubs”; for him, playing in Blaugrana is a dream come true.

The German winger signs a contract with the Blaugranas until 2031, with his official presentation to follow shortly.
