Miguel Ángel Ramírez, ‘Miguelete’, is one of the heroes of Sabadell’s promotion to La Liga Hypermotion. Sabadell, a city in the Barcelona province, has a long-standing professional football tradition and has seen its main team struggling in the lower tiers, so this promotion was hugely celebrated by the entire town. Miguelete, who spent time in Barça’s youth system, was one of the main protagonists and spoke in a recent interview with Blaugranagram’s partner Flashscore about his time in La Masía, among many other topics.
“My time in La Masía gave me memories that will stay with me all my life”, he says, very fondly, before continuing, “it’s a bubble and what you experience inside that bubble is incredible”. For him, it was a dream to be in Barça’s youth system, and it was key for his development as a footballer “I learned so much there, I enjoyed it immensely, and I’ll never forget it.”
Miguelete shared the locker room with big names, such as Ansu Fati, Eric García, who is at the World Cup, Ilaix Moriba, Sergi Altimira and Arnau Tenas, “I don’t see them as anything more than friends, they’re simply my friends. I’m so happy when I see them at the top, enjoying themselves and winning titles.”, he keeps speaking highly of them, “they’re still my friends. I was with Ansu a few days ago, for example. I talk to them a lot. As I said, I’m so happy for their success. In the end, they’re players who deserve it. They’ve worked incredibly hard since they were little. They’ve had this opportunity, and they haven’t hesitated to take advantage of it. In the end, they deserve it, and I’m so happy for them and to see them happy.”
