New protocols regarding the upcoming presidential elections, in place

The election day for a new Barcelona president and board is edging ever closer, and, as things stand, 110.000 people are authorized to vote.

The Management Committee of FC Barcelona, at a meeting today held today in an ordinary session, has taken the following resolutions:

Voting for the presidential elections will take place on January 24, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., uninterruptedly, and simultaneously at the various polling places arranged for voting.

The Management Committee wishes to emphasize that the holding of these elections is conditioned by the exceptional nature of the Covid-19 pandemic, which is why they will be organized in accordance with the provisions and indications of the health authorities at all times, in order to protect the health and guarantee the safety of the voters.

Because of the pandemic for the first time there will be 10 voting locations. That will be Camp Nou-Barcelona, ​​Girona, Tarragona, Tortosa, Lleida, Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla, Palma de Mallorca and Andorra la Vella. There will also be recommendations for voting in time slots to avoid crowding and queuing in accordance with Covid-19 sanitary protocols.

The exact number of voters will be known when the census is created on the date of the call and coinciding with the publication of the announcement. 93% of voters live in Catalonia, 4% in the rest of Spain and 3% abroad.

The calendar to take into account:

December 16th: publication of the official announcement of the call.
December 16: public drawing for the election of the members of the Board and the Polling Station Board. 10 am, Auditorium 1899.
22nd of December: constitution of the Board and the Polling Station.
23rd of December: application and collection of support tickets.
23rd of December-11th of January: delivery of the support tickets.
12-14 January: counting of the ballots and proclamation of the candidates who meet the minimum number of 2,257 endorsements required to compete in the elections.
15-22 January: electoral campaign.
January 23: day of reflection.
January 24th: voting.
