FC Barcelona have confirmed that Pedri will be out for around one month after picking up a muscle injury during the Champions League match win against Slavia Prague.
In an official medical report released on Thursday morning, Barça stated that tests carried out at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper confirmed a muscle injury to the biceps femoris in Pedri’s right leg. He was forced off during the second half in Prague after feeling pain while sprinting back during a counter attack.
Pedri immediately signaled to the bench and did not attempt to continue. He left the pitch visibly uncomfortable and was replaced by Dani Olmo, who later scored in Barcelona’s 4-2 comeback win.
According to the club, the expected recovery time is one month. This is Pedri’s third injury issue of the season, after already missing five matches earlier in the campaign due to muscle problems.
Reports coming out of Spain indicate that Pedri is likely to miss a demanding run of fixtures across several competitions. These include LaLiga matches against Oviedo, Elche, Mallorca, Girona, and Levante, as well as Champions League games against København and potential European play off ties if Barça are required to play them.
