Barca Atletic center-back Mikayil Faye is attracting interest from top European clubs.

Mikayil Faye, continues to increase his value. The Senegalese center-back arrived last summer to reinforce Barça Atlètic, but with the clear objective of making the leap to the first team. Despite teams like Chelsea or Dortmund being willing to triple the salary offered by the Catalan club, Faye strongly bet on Barça.

Faye signed for the Catalan club for only 2.2 million euros, coming from NK Kustosija in Croatia. Although he has not yet debuted with the first team, his value is increasing thanks to his great performances in the Barcelona B team. The Senegalese center-back is a regular for Rafa Márquez in the heart of defense. To date, he has played 21 games, all of them as a starter, and has scored two consecutive goals – he opened the scoring against Rayo Majadahonda (3-1) and did the same this weekend against Cultural Leonesa (4-0).

Last January, Barcelona, aware that they had a raw diamond in their hands, decided to reject Lens’ offer for their defender, which was offering 9 million euros. The Barcelona sports management decided to keep Faye in the B team and assess his performance once the season ends. The emergence of Pau Cubarsí could hinder Faye’s promotion to the first team, unless the club considers letting go of some of the current center-backs under Xavi’s orders. Otherwise, if Barcelona ends up opening the door to cash in, there will be no shortage of suitors for the player.

In addition to Lens, Champions League teams like Arsenal or Dortmund, who already wanted him in the summer, are closely monitoring Mika Faye for the upcoming summer. In France, there are also other interested clubs such as Nice and Lille. They all see Mika playing as a starter in their first team, and the salary for the player would be much higher than what he currently receives in the B team.
