Negotiations are underway for the renewal of Pau Prim’s contract with Barcelona.

The agency Gestifute, led by Jorge Mendes, showed significant interest in Pau Prim, along with other companies in the representation world. Pau Prim and his family have decided to continue with Interfootball, the agency that has represented him since he was a child. According to Jaume Marcet of SPORT, Pau, who turned 18 three weeks ago, has thanked all the agents, including Mendes, for their interest, but in his decision, loyalty to those who have cared for his career for years has been paramount. This loyalty reflects the character of a player who is highly regarded by all his teammates, coaches, and staff at Barça’s youth football base.

Like most of his peers, he signed a contract until his final year of youth football. Pau’s contract expires in June 2025, but Barça wants to renew it, and the player wishes to continue. Negotiations have begun, and both parties hope to reach a satisfactory agreement. After being one of the standout players for Juvenil B last season, Pau Prim moved up to Juvenil A this season, where he is an undisputed starter. His ability to read the game and organize the team from the midfield position convinces Óscar López.

With Barça Atlètic, he played at a high level for 44 minutes against Real Union and has already participated in nine matches with the reserve team in the First Federation. Additionally, Pau is on Xavi’s radar, who has called him up for various first-team training sessions.

Pau has been playing for Barça since he was in the pre-benjamin category, and before that, he was at the Barça Escola. His technical, imaginative football with 100% Barça DNA has captivated all the coaches who have trained him. They all highlight his great talent and exceptional human qualities. In addition to playing in the Blaugrana academy since childhood, Pau Prim is a true Culé at heart, being a member of his lifelong club. That’s why he wants to tie his professional life to FC Barcelona. For logistical reasons, Pau Prim has been living in La Masia since the summer of 2022.

This allows him to better balance training schedules and his studies in the second year of high school. Pau is not yet sure about which career to pursue next year, but he is convinced of the need to continue preparing academically. His choice could be a career related to economics. Apart from music, Pau has few hobbies that are not related to football. The Sant Andreu de la Barca native lives and breathes football. The beautiful game is his life, and Barça is his passion.
