FC Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Ansu Fati for a contract renewal which will secure his commitment to the club until 2027. The release clause is reportedly set at one billion euros.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the FC Barcelona board has reached an agreement with Ansu Fati’s entourage for the renewal of the youngster’s contract. The principle of agreement that the representative of the striker, Jorge Mendes, and the club’s Director of Football, Mateu Alemany, reached in Porto has already evolved into a total agreement between the parties that will be initialed, as intended, before the Clasico next Sunday. Ansu will sign with Barça until 2027, thus ensuring the tranquility of tying the new jewel with a long contract and with a release clause that will be one billion euros, similar to what they agreed on in Pedri’s contract.

Ansu Fati has been one of the top-performing youngsters since he made his debut with the first team in the 2019-20 season in which he achieved a lot individually scoring eight goals and assisting one. He continued his hot run of form in the following season but suffered a major knee injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season. After the long recovery process, the player has steadily started to feature for the first team again and already has two goals to his name in just three games proving yet again why he is so crucial for the club’s present and future.

Now that the agreement between the parties is complete, the club has begun making preparations for the act of signing the new contract, which is scheduled for tomorrow. It will be an important event, in which president Laporta and Ansu will stage the reinforcement of the player’s bond with Barça, the club in which he has always wanted to play. The agreement comes as a sigh of relief for the Catalan club because in recent weeks several big European clubs have been interested in Fati’s contractual situation, knowing that his current contract runs out in 2022 and that Barça did not want to execute the unilateral clause to renew it for two more years. Finally, the forecast will be fulfilled to be able to close the winger’s renewal before the Clasico next Sunday.
