Barcelona are looking to sign a striker in January and could have their sights set on Basel striker Arthur Cabral, Mundo Deportivo reports.

Barcelona are looking to sign a number 9 in the upcoming January transfer window. According to Mundo Deportivo, the striker of choice could be Basel’s top scorer Arthur Cabral. The 186cm tall striker is currently focused on his duties for FC Basel, but he’s been informed of Barcelona’s interest.

The same outlet reports that Basel are willing to listen to offers. The Brazilian’s contract runs out in 2023 and the upcoming summer transfer window would be the last chance to receive a transfer fee for the player. The striker arrived in Switzerland from Palmeiras in 2019. In his first two previous seasons he scored 18 and 20 goals respectively. So far this season he’s scored 23 goals and delivered 8 assists in 24 games.

Cabral is described as a killer in the box and great in the air. His preferred foot is his right, but he’s comfortable with both feet. With 86kg on the scale he doesn’t lack physical presence.
