In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Barcelona expect to play behind closed doors until mid-November, at the very least.

As the season has come to a standstill as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the parties involved begin drawing their plan for finishing the season, and in what manner it is feasible to do so.

On Barcelona‘s end, the club believes that the games that are played will be played behind closed doors, at least until mid-November, reports Radio Catalunya.

The more pessimistic estimate, which the club also sees as a possible outcome according to the report, is that games are played behind closed doors until February 2021. In both cases, the club will not charge the usual monetary amount for the season passes, and will await the schedule and amount of games that will be put forth for the coming season.

With Barcelona, per the report, earning 45 million euros annually from the season pass, a decrease in games in which the fans can be attendees is sure to result in a reduction in income for the Catalans. The reduction the club will endure will depend on the amount of games the club can offer, which is yet to be seen.

Thus, the club expects the coming season to start behind closed doors, unless otherwise specified by the local government.

LaLiga‘s suspension was announced indefinitely as a result of the pandemic spreading in Spain, with the league being on a standstill after its 27th round of games.
