January came and went, just like an undefeated FC Barcelona Femeni season. So far, the Blaugrana club have laced up the boots six times in 2024, including against Real Madrid, Real Betis, Eintract Frankfurt, Levante, and Levante Las Planas. Ranging from final scores of 7-0 to 6-0, 4-0 to 2-0, all six matches have been straight victories with only 1 goal conceded and an astounding 36 goals scored in both league play and tournament tussles. Most recently Real Betis almost had to surrender a forfeit flag after conceding 6 times. That means the likes of goalkeepers Cata Coll and Sandra Paños have kept a clean sheet 8/9 times. On the other side of the field, players such as Caroline Graham Hansen, Salma Paralluelo, and Patri Guijarro all completed hat tricks or similar, showing no mercy in the formidable Liga F. Only in second place of the table stand Real Madrid, lacking a significant amount of points to catch up to the Culers.

Seemingly on fire, especially while wearing the yellow and red away kits, FC Barcelona will face a continental challenge against Portugal’s best club team Benfica on January 31st. Benfica are fighting for a spot in the elimination rounds of the European competition while FC Barcelona have secured a spot and await their next challenger. Norwegian Caroline Graham Hansen currently holds the most goals scored (12) and most goals assisted (10) in the entirety of Liga F. We’ll see how long this winning streak can last. Who knows, maybe until May.
