With FC Barcelona going into internal reconstruction and reorganization, Jordi Cruyff is once again being linked to the Catalan club. He could well be on his way to occupy the sporting director role at Barça.

Per a report of ESPN, Jordi Cruyff will this week travel to Barcelona to meet with President Joan Laporta. He is currently the manager of Shenzhen FC in the Chinese Super League. However, according to the news outlet, his contract includes a unique clause. In the case that Barça offers him the sporting director position he would be able to leave the Chinese club for free. Nevertheless, if he is presented with another role, Shenzhen could ask for a monetary compensation.

Cruyff has held numerous roles in several clubs. But his advantage is his fathers legacy and iconic figure at Barcelona. Johan Cruyff led Barça to their first Champions League and created the Barça style of play.

Currently the Catalan club are going into a phase of reconstruction all round. Specially after the final results in LaLiga and the situation of numerous players who could be on their way out. Both Mateu Alemany and Ramon Planes are leading this effort at the moment.
