Ronald Koeman, FC Barcelona’s first team coach gave a short interview to SPORT where he talked about next season, Messi’s contract situation, Memphis Depay, and more.

Even though the FC Barcelona manager is currently on the vacation, he continues to stay in touch with the footballing world. Yesterday, he was at the match between his home country and Austria. He is also in close contact with the club’s sports directors in order to communicate for the transfers in and out of the club. He gave a short interview to SPORT and it went as follows,

About next season

“I know that the club is working very hard to build a more competitive team than that of last season. I am convinced that the team will be much more stronger next season.”

Leo Messi’s contract situation

“We have always been saying that Messi has to finish (his career) at Barcelona. Hopefully, the situation about his contract will be resolved soon, it will be a great news for everyone.”

Memphis Depay

“The transfer is almost done, only the signature is remaining.”

Wijnaldum’s decision to join PSG

“It was unfortunate on our side because he is an interesting player who entered in the plans of many clubs. I think we lacked contacts which would have been decisive, or perhaps more convincing on our part.”

End of the interview.

It will be interesting to see how well Barcelona can manage their remaining transfer window. The Blaugranas have already acquired the services of Sergio Aguero, Eric García, and Emerson Royal.
