It is no secret that Kun Agüero has been on Barcelona’s radar for quite a while as a back-up striker, given that he is leaving Manchester City in the summer. It appears that only a few details are missing before his signing to the Catalan outfit is made official.

Today, Spanish news outlet COPE, has advanced that the Argentinian attacker and Barcelona are in very advanced negotiations. This would see the current “citizen” attacker move to Barça next Summer and for the next two seasons play alongside his lifelong friend Lionel Messi.

The board of FC Barcelona see this move as a very tactical one and a great market opportunity. However, Esport3 also informs that his salary would be below what he currently earns at City. Additionally, Kun would have to accept a more secondary attacking role in the team, rather than usual starter.

Agüero has not been at his best this season, only racking up 4 goals and suffering several injuries. However, he is the highest scorer in Manchester City’s history with 257, and could be very useful for Barcelona.
