Setién regrets the draw and refuses to give up on the title

After the end of the Barça vs Celta Vigo match, which ended in a 2-2 draw in the 32nd round of La Liga at the Balaidos stadium in Vigo, Barça lost two valuable points in the lead battle with their arch-rivals Real Madrid. Coach Quique Setien and Luis Suárez talked to the press about their impressions of the match.

Coach Quique Setién admitted at the press conference that his team will have themselves to blame for further complicating the race for the league title, but he refuses to give up the fight for the title. He further added that the team could not manage the ball well, and also praised the opponent’s offense, as he said: “In the end, when we were already in a tendency to keep the lead on the scoreboard, they went ahead, took risks, and we could not better manage the ball.”

What does Barça need to win?

“We need our game to prove itself with more goals. Our superiority in the first half should have been enough to finish the first half with more goals, but football is going to streak. It’s hard for us to score goals and that it is undermining confidence and making them a little more nervous. Right now we don’t have the point of lucidity we need.”

Why is Barça struggling away from home? (Barça has only garnered 23 points in the away games).

“There are several factors that can explain why it costs us more to score away from home. We would indeed like to be more solid in many aspects, but we are an offensive team, who spend a lot of time in the rival’s field and a little lack of concentration can cost us a lot.”

Are you satisfied with the starting lineup today?

“I don’t look at the price of the players. Against Athletic I bet on some players and today on others”

As for the Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez, who managed to score a brace against Celta, to return and score again after being absent for 13 rounds of Liga matches. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the result, which makes it now more difficult for the team to fight for the title.
He said, “It was a vital match in the race for the title, we had a good first half, creating chances, but in the second half, it looked different, with Celta wanting to be more of a protagonist. The sensation is bitter, a bit of sadness and frustration, because we have lost two points

Suárez also commented on Barça’s predicaments away from home, and praised the opponent, saying: “That’s what coaches are for, to analyze why we lose important points away from home, something that did not happen to us in previous seasons. Rivals must also be appreciated, Celta have high-quality players, they are a team that fights to the bitter end under any circumstances. Iago Aspas’s free-kick shows the kind of quality players they have. It is a virtue.”

On him scoring two goals in the match, he noted: “For my part, I am happy to help the team with the brace, but one gets angry because now things have to be corrected. This was a complicated match, as will be Villarreal’s, and in between the fixture, we welcome Atlético.
