Barça B continue their great run of form with their fourth win in a row

It took just one minute into the second half for Barça B to find themselves up 1-0. What they had pushed for and failed to do in the first half, had only taken them a minute to do in after the break.

A quick cut in from the left from Ferran Jutgla caught the Villarreal B defenders on their back foot. It allowed Jutgla to create enough space and get the ball on his preferred right foot. A clean finish followed and the Blaugrana finally took the lead.

Barça B looked like the better team in a boring first half. They came out the second half and immediately took the lead. What followed would be surprising.

Villarreal would fight back and force Barça B into uncomfortable situations, followed by sloppy passes and giveaways.

Villarreal B fought back, and they fought back hard. The equalizer was inevitable, and it came in a form of a golazo from Nicholas Jackson. A strike that Carević had no chance of saving.

Carević to the Rescue

After the equalizer, Villarreal B just kept pushing and just four minutes later it seemed as if they had taken the lead. The ball looked to be on its way in, certainly, but Carević got just enough on it to keep it out.

A wonder save when Barça B needed it most.

Villarreal B kept pursuing the goal that would put them in front but against the run of play Antonio Aranda would put Barça B in front just a few minutes after Carević kept the game leveled.

Aranda would be at the right place at the right time to pounce on a chance that Jutgla couldn’t quite get enough on, but Aranda would fire the Cules back in front.

With Barça B back in front they didn’t allow Villarreal B to take control of the game. Villarreal B wouldn’t just sit back and watch Barça B have it their way, but they weren’t living in Barça B’s third like they were just a few moments before.

Carević would be forced to make one more great save to bail Barça B out in the 81’ minute and immediately after Barça B found themselves on the break with numbers. A chance would fall to Lucas De Vega who just put it wide.

A goal that would have certainly sealed the win for Barça B.

Barça B would go on to win the match 2-1. Making it not only their fourth win a row, but their fourth win in a row by the same score line. A team that had only won one game between Mid-December to the end of February, had now won four in row, taking them out of the relegation battle.
