Mika Mármol garners interest from Manchester City.

Mika Mármol is one of the standout players in the league. The UD Las Palmas player, developed in La Masia, has established himself in La Liga, and several clubs are closely monitoring him. As reported by ‘Marca’, Manchester City has allegedly reached out to the player’s agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, to inquire about his situation. In reality, the signing would be for the City Football Group, which could loan the 22-year-old player to one of its affiliated clubs for further development. In this regard, Girona could be his destination for a loan spell.

The challenge of competing in the Champions League would be very appealing to the defender from Terrassa. Mika Mármol made his debut with FC Barcelona’s first team under Xavi Hernández in La Liga against Getafe, and the prospects were high. However, Barcelona agreed to his move to Andorra, retaining 50 percent of his playing rights, a percentage they still hold with his transfer to UD Las Palmas.

The Canary club paid €1.9 million to Andorra for his signing, and Barcelona retained 50 percent of the profits from any future sale.

If this transfer goes through this summer, FC Barcelona could receive a good financial compensation, and the player could take another step forward in his career. UD Las Palmas might attempt to extend Mármol’s loan with the City Football Group for the following season, although it’s challenging with teams like Girona pursuing the same objective.
