The Spanish Federation has opened a case against both Barça manager Ronald Koeman and former directive Xavi Vilajoana, due to criticisms to the handling of the VAR in the match against Real Madrid.

This Wednesday, November 4th, the club has received official notification by the Federation that there will be a process against Ronald Koeman and Xavi Vilajoana due to their declarations against the VAR.

In the post game interview against Real Madrid, the Dutch manager called out the inefficient use of the technology. In that particular match, the referee signaled a penalty in favor of Madrid in the middle of a very polemic play.

Additionally, Koeman has stated that the VAR always goes against Barcelona, no matter the opponent. It is his belief that at least in three matches his side has been affected by the wrong use of the technology.

Media outlet RAC1 has informed that an investigating judge could sanction Koeman with between 2 and 12 matches.
