Barcelona’s scrape for money continues, as right back Nélson Semedo could end up in the Premier League by the end of the week, reports ESPN.
The sources that ESPN have contacted assures them that “if everything goes well, the operation could be closed during the weekend”, and that “we have been working on this matter for days”.
Having already sold Ivan Rakitic, and being on the verge of selling Arturo Vidal, the sale of Nélson Semedo is a further attempt from the club to scrape together money in order to fund the club’s transfer targets, Eric García from Manchester City and Sergiño Dest from Ajax.
Eric García is still the main target to reinforce the central defence, with him refusing to sign a new contract at Manchester City. According to ESPN, Barcelona have been working on the deal for several months, and the club president, Josep Maria Bartomeu has even held meetings with Eric’s father.
According to reports, Bayern Munich are close to securing Sergiño Dest, although things could change quickly if Barcelona decide to race Bayern for his signature.
